We've had quite a run on beautiful weather here in the upper midwest. I've been getting out to paint some watercolors before we dip below freezing and my brush turns from a soft painting instrument into a sharp spear. I've had that happen, have my brush morph into a weapon. A couple of years ago I wanted to see the affects of the painting freezing to my paper before drying. I got some interesting results..along with some frozen fingers..

Anyway I managed to get myself downtown to do an urban landscape. This particular view is from the parking lot of Utrecht Art Supplies. I always have admired this alley when picking up supplies and always said to myself that I'll have to come down sometime and render this scene. My day finally arrived.
